In today's tech world it's easier than ever to get a product to the market, but it is also significantly harder to win in the face of near-endless competition for attention and revenue. In this talk I'll explain how successful tech companies, both big and small, use the discipline of product management to focus the team on two things: value delivered to customers and value captured by the company. I'll discuss ways to ensure that these seemingly conflicting goals become mutually enhancing, and how to align goals, strategy, the team and investors around them from the very early stages of the company.
